Gay Pride Parade and Festival

Miami Beach, Fl. ­–Members of the Unity Coalition marched in the fourth annual Gay Pride Parade on Sunday, April 15. The Unity Coalition has been the first and only organization for the South Florida Latino Hispanic LGBT Community. The parade took place on Ocean Drive from Fifth Street to 15th Street on South Beach.

Dr. Alan Rapperport, 78, swims laps at Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club on Sunday, March 25.Rapperport, a former All-American swimmer, says he swims at least six times per week and has been swimming for over 50 years. He is currently ranked in the top 5 in world in freestyle and backstroke in his age group (75-80 years).

Saab said that she was first introduced to belly dancing by her mother at an early age and has been dancing ever since. She has made up her own routines for talent shows on campus and performs at private events and parties.“Belly dancing is unlike any other dance because you get to be creative.” Saab said.

The center is expected to be finished by summer 2013 and will include lounge areas, meeting rooms and retail outlets, according to the website miami.edu/sa/index.php/student_activities_center.
